My name is Sam Rogers. From 2008 to 2012 I went on an international couchsurfing adventure while working primarily as an eLearning Developer and a musician. I consider it another 4-year degree. In that time I traveled in North & South America, Europe, spent quite a bit of time in Australia/New Zealand. I still travel extensively all over the globe, enjoying a “home-free” lifestyle.
Where ever I go, I encounter people who want to know all about what life is like without a home base. After sharing the same stories and tips to fellow travelers and desk-bound friends living vicariously off my facebook feed for years, I thought I’d put it all in one spot for everyone to see. This blog started as a FAQ for folks interested in not living anywhere in particular but doing it really well. Since then it has evolved a bit, and now I sometimes have others contribute their stories, travel hacks, tech tips, & other relevant info as well.
One thing you will not see here is a travelog. I don’t really post pictures of where I’ve been or what I’m doing unless I think it’s particularly poignant or otherwise useful fuel to get YOU out and living on The Cloud too! In other words, I may get all geeky about some travel hack, but I won’t bore you with my slideshow of a trip somewhere. Promise.
If there’s something you’d like to see here that isn’t here yet, just ask! And if you’re interested in talking to me in detail about how to do something like this with your life, let’s talk!
